A project to mark the former parachute drop sites of the Second World War has taken shape in the département.
Since 2011, the Voluntary Resistance Fighters (CVR) of Saône-et-Loire have been working on a project to mark the former parachute drop sites of the Second World War to pay tribute to the men and women who took great risks to continue the fight against the enemy.
The parachute drops at Pressy sous Dondin took place on 15 April 1943, 5 April 1944 (weapons) and 15 April 1944 (men).
The totem pole was inaugurated on 2 October 2016.
