Lieu de parachutage - Seconde Guerre mondiale

A project to mark the former parachute drop sites of the Second World War has taken shape in the département on the initiative of the CVRs.

Since 2011, the Voluntary Resistance Fighters (CVR) of Saône-et-Loire have been working on a project to mark the former parachute drop sites of the Second World War to pay tribute to the men and women who took great risks to continue the fight against the enemy.

The Saint Ambreuil parachute drop took place on 18 August 1943: two Resistance fighters from the "Armada" mission were parachuted here. The coded message from Radio Londres was "The transformer is leaking".

The totem pole was inaugurated on 4 September 2013.
