Lieu de parachutage - Seconde Guerre mondiale

A project to mark the former parachute drop sites of the Second World War has taken shape in the département.

Since 2011, the Voluntary Resistance Fighters (CVR) of Saône-et-Loire have been working on a project to mark the former parachute drop sites of the Second World War to pay tribute to the men and women who took great risks to continue the fight against the enemy.

The parachute drops at Saint-Martin de Salencey took place on 6 June, 9 and 25 July and 6, 10 and 25 August 1944.

The totem pole was inaugurated on 7 October 2018.
