A project to mark the former parachute drop sites of the Second World War has taken shape in the département.
Since 2011, the Voluntary Resistance Fighters (CVR) of Saône-et-Loire have been working on a project to mark the former parachute drop sites of the Second World War to pay tribute to the men and women who took great risks to continue the fight against the enemy.
The parachute drop at La Chapelle de Bragny took place on 11 August 1944 (SAS commandos and men from the Armada Mission + weapons).
The totem pole was inaugurated on 31 January 2016.
