Your guide will be waiting for you at the Tourist Office to take you on a 1? hour tour of Cluny on horseback.
In the 19th century, at the request of the town, Napoleon set up a stallion depot in Cluny, in the abbey guest house. In 1814, these horses were transferred to the current stables, built from the stones of the abbey church.
Today, Cluny boasts a "horse centre" that is unique in France, with a stud farm, riding stables, a racecourse and an equestrian centre.
During this visit, we'll tell the story of the horse in Cluny, take a tour of the stables and the stud farm museum, and finish off by spending some time on the showgrounds, enjoying what's on offer.
