VERS LA LUMIÈRE

On Saturday 15 August 2026, the Fribourg-based vocal ensemble RESONANCE invites you to an exceptional musical evening in the prestigious setting of the Abbaye Saint-Philibert in Tournus. Under the title "Towards the Light", the choir will present a spiritual programme dedicated to the Assumption of the Virgin Mary.

A programme imbued with serenity

Conducted by Johannes Tolle, the choir will perform masterpieces by great composers from different eras: Anton Bruckner, Benjamin Britten, Gabriel Fauré and Ola Gjeilo. The choir will be accompanied by organist Yana Kashcheva, whose playing will interact with the voices under the vaults of the abbey.

The RESONANCE vocal ensemble is an exceptional group of young talents and internationally renowned artists led by the German conductor Johannes Tolle. It was at the Château de Vaudreuille in the heart of the Lauragais that the Resonance ensemble met for some twenty years to work, isolate itself and prepare a summer programme: opera, recital, concert. The ensemble has performed such masterpieces as Henry Purcell's Dido and Aeneas and Monteverdi's Vespers of the Virgin. Last year, for the first time, the ensemble gathered in Burgundy to present the fruits of its musical sojourn.
