What could be more natural than to perform the greatest arias from Carmen in the open air, in the heart of the town, in a green setting? The Chœur Jubilate de Cluny invites you to (re)discover Bizet's opera in a version designed for everyone.

Universal music and unforgettable arias

From the very first notes, everyone will recognise the melodies that are part of our collective memory: L'amour est un oiseau rebelle (Habanera), La Garde montante, and the flamboyant Chœur des cigarières. These timeless tunes, hummed all over the world, will be carried by the voices of the Jubilate Cluny choir and its soloists, offering an intense and vibrant moment of musical sharing.

An opera for everyone

Faithful to the spirit of the original 1875 production, this version of Carmen retains its spoken dialogue, making the plot more fluid and expressive. But to ensure that everyone can follow and feel the story to the full, a spoken part will introduce and accompany the key scenes, making it easier for the audience to immerse themselves.

This open-air concert, in a warm atmosphere, is designed to make opera accessible to everyone. Admission is free for under-18s, and prices remain affordable for all other spectators, so that everyone can enjoy this exceptional evening.
