Château de Saint Point Lamartine

Saint-Point, a romantic château in Burgundy.

From 1820 onwards, Saint-Point castle became the home of the poet and politician Alphonse de Lamartine, who restored it in the Romantic style and added towers, turrets, a portico and a balcony to the old medieval castle. In this residence, which has retained all the charm of the 19th century, visitors can immerse themselves in the poet's private life and discover the château's kitchen, the dining room where Lamartine entertained V. Hugo, F. Liszt, F. Chopin and G. Sand. Sand, the grand salon, the poet's bedroom and study, still furnished and decorated as they were at the time.

Set up in the grounds of the Château de Saint-Point, a poetry trail features recordings of extracts from the poet's works, designed to help visitors discover or rediscover the literary work of Alphonse de Lamartine. Visitors will be able to listen to these recordings, performed by Lambert Wilson, Guillaume Gallienne, Catherine Salviat and Stéphane Bern, after scanning a QR code on their smartphone.
