Behind every sound and every beat of Nasser Ben Dadoo's music, the blues emerge as a matter of course. For this southern blues needs no compass to plumb the depths of the soul. And while his music carries the torments of the Mississippi, from Delta to Jump to Chicago blues, it also breathes African 6/8 rhythms. Her new show, "Blue Legacy", goes back to the inexhaustible source of the blues, perpetuating her creative fibre and transforming melancholy into a vibrant celebration of life in her gravelly voice.
