Arsenic and Old Lace is an American detective comedy first performed in 1939, which has since become a classic of contemporary theatre. The action takes place in the home of the charming Brewster sisters, whose generosity is matched only by their highly unusual methods of offering eternal peace to the lonely souls who cross their path. With its misunderstandings, black humour, incredible situations and colourful characters, the play is fast-paced and a rare pleasure to watch.

It's this jubilant energy that the Compagnie Théâtrale du Cercle Saint-Louis wanted to share with you to celebrate its 150th anniversary! Founded in 1875, the Company wanted to combine tradition and humour by rediscovering the pleasure of a great classic. Arsenic et Vieilles Dentelles perfectly embodies the spirit that drives the troupe: a taste for play, a love of laughter and the joy of being together.
