📍 Péronne
Eglise Sainte-Madeleine
The church of Péronne was ceded in the 10th century to the abbey of Cluny, which established one of its deaneries there. The façade of the building is in "opus spicatum".
The Church of Péronne was passed, in the 10th century, to Cluny Abbey, where one of its deanships was established. The facade of the building is perhaps the oldest part with its “opus spicatum” (fish bones shaped). The bell tower was raised with an additional level in the 19th century. To see: two carved lintels (X° or XI° century) are embedded in the walls of the nave, one representing a cock and the other one two lions facing around a sacred tree.
