Eglise Sainte-Bernadette

This church, built at the beginning of the 1930's, testifies to the development of the town of Digoin beyond the primitive village.

This church, built in the early 1930s, bears witness to the development of the town of Digoin beyond the primitive village, thanks to the ceramic industry. The severe reinforced concrete architecture is counterbalanced, inside, by superb stained glass windows (or clerestories) with bright colours. In the choir: mural painting by Louis Charlot (1878-1951), an artist from Morvan, representing Bernadette Soubirou in front of the grotto of Lourdes.
