In 1939, Fleurville, then a hamlet of Vérizet (71), was attached to the parish of Lugny for worship, following the creation of the pastoral community of Lugny, founded on the initiative of Bishop Joseph Robert. After the Second World War, Fleurville became a commune and until then had no church. The building constructed was modest.
