Eglise Saint-Pierre

The church of Rosey, dedicated to St. Peter, is located outside the village, near a large building that was a priory.

The church of Rosey, dedicated to Saint Peter, is located on the outskirts of the village, close to a large building, still called "the Priory" which housed monks until the end of the 17th century. The church was both a parish church and a conventual church. The priory became a presbytery until the Revolution. The Benedictine monks of Saint Pierre de Chalon left Rosey at the end of the 17th century. The parish was attached to Saint-Désert after the Revolution. The parish church of Rosey has kept its Romanesque nave. The 18th century wall paintings, discovered in the early 1990s, were restored by young volunteers in the context of international workcamps.
