Eglise Saint-Martin
It is dedicated to St. Martin (attested in 1892), just like the churches of Cortiambles and Poncey. A special tribute was paid to St Louis.
The church of Russilly is dedicated to Saint Martin (attested in 1892), as are the churches of Cortiambles and Poncey. But a particular homage is paid to Saint Louis (until recently, a mass was celebrated there on August 25th for the feast of Saint Louis).
Seen from the square against a background of trees, behind a hedge of palm laurels, the bell tower and the top of the building give an attractive image of a pretty little rural church, which has unfortunately lost its typical Burgundian lava roof, replaced in 1964 by flat tiles.
Three parts can be clearly distinguished: in the centre, the massive building dominated by the bell tower, between two rectangular buildings (nave and narrower choir, with buttresses). You enter through the side door, opposite the entrance to the cemetery.
