Place of the Apparitions of Christ to Saint Margaret Mary Alacoque between 1673 and 1675.
The site of the apparitions of Christ to Saint Marguerite Marie Alacoque between 1673 and 1675. To the right of the choir, a small chapel houses the saint's shrine, where a wax cast of her bones rests. This shrine dates from the beatification of the nun in 1864. Marguerite-Marie was canonised in 1920 by Pope Benedict XV.
The chapel of the Visitation monastery, built in 1633, was remodelled in 1854 in a style reminiscent of the decor of the basilica.
It is a popular place of pilgrimage and may be used for religious ceremonies.
