Ancienne chapelle Saint-Odilon

First mentioned in 1075, this chapel is now part of a modern 19th century villa.

First mentioned in 1075, this chapel is now part of a modern 19th century villa. Located to the south of the abbey, on a hill near the Sainte-Odile gate (formerly Odilon), it was dedicated to the saint Odilon de Mercœur, the fifth abbot of the abbey of Cluny, whose cult developed widely in the mid 11th century.

Probably built in the second half of the 11th century, it was surrounded by a small cemetery and was the place where several deeds were signed. The chapel is privately owned and cannot be visited.
