Ma campagne à la ville
Sylvie & Gilles are passionate wine lovers, cyclists and hikers, and welcome you to an authentic 1930s mansion that has been carefully restored into a very comfortable holiday home, set in a quiet lane on the edge of a small residential area adjoining the nearby town center. A privileged setting not far from the banks of the Saône, literally "cut off from the world" in an unusual and exotic setting. A veritable "jewel case" of greenery, just a stone's throw from shops and services and the historic pedestrian heart of Chalon. Labelled a "Ville d'Art et d'Histoire", the Burgundy town boasts a rich heritage (half-timbered houses, towers and turrets, fortifications and bastions, Saint Vincent cathedral, former episcopal palace, "Piccolo" Italian-style theater, chapel of the Ile Saint-Laurent hospital, etc.) and a high level of cultural and leisure facilities. Very comfortable apartment. Spacious & bright. Beautiful volumes. Warm contemporary style enhanced by the exotic ambience of an old house. Lots of charm & character. Cosy & cozy. Large, private, exposed terrace opening onto a pleasant, enclosed, grassy garden nestled at the back of the house (shared with the house's other gîte).
Composition: Town house comprising two gîtes (totally independent, one opposite the other / shared entrance from the alleyway, via a corridor serving the 2 apartments). Wifi access. Gas-fired central heating. Ground floor: living room-kitchen, separate toilet. 1st floor: large "landing" mezzanine with office area, TV lounge (sofa bed 2 p. 140x190cm), 2 bedrooms (bed 2 p. 160x200cm / 2 beds 1 p. 90x200cm bunk beds), bathroom (bath/Wc). Shared enclosed garden. Private terrace + balcony. All amenities on site. Bus at 300m. Easy on-site public parking (free 300m away).
