Vers les pâtures du sud Morvan
Follow the narrow road up to the summit of Mont Beuvray for 20 m, passing to the right of the "Le Chaudron" restaurant, and follow the narrow path that climbs steeply to the left of the road. Pass the Barlots tomb.
Climb up to the Porte du Rebout, the main entrance to the oppidum, cut into the "lower" rampart dating from the 1st century BC. Its reconstruction evokes the appearance of the murus gallicus.
Follow the GR©13 through the archaeological site, without leaving it. Along the long road leading from the Porte du Rebout, metal workshops are excavated and then backfilled to ensure their preservation. Along the way, you'll come across queules, trees with twisted silhouettes that are the remains of woven hedges that enclosed pastures in centuries gone by.
300m further on, turn left towards Le Theurot de la Roche. This peak overlooking the town was probably once a place of worship. Pass through the residential area of Bibracte, where you'll see the remains of domus, large Roman houses.
Go back up the small road and climb straight up to the Terrasse, from which the view is spectacular at 814m.
Then follow the PR "Le chemin de maraude", which passes the little Saint Martin chapel and joins the GR©13 through the forest. Take the GR©13 to the left and go straight downhill for 3km to a small road.
Turn left for a few metres, then right at the Montvernot mill. After 1 km, accommodation. Continue on the GR©13 to Petiton. Cross the hamlet and stay on the GR©13 to Foudon.
Turn left onto a small road that becomes a track, then left again. Admire the pretty view from Les Boulats. Turn right onto a PR road towards Maquis Louis and follow it to the Maquis monument. Take the D192 road for 200m and join the GR©13 (good view), which goes deep into the forest. You pass close to Mont Touleur. Follow the path to Les Verne. Nice view.
Follow the GR to the village of Larochemillay. Lodging in gîte d?étape.
Nestled on the south-western flank of Mont Beuvray, Larochemillay dominates the Vallée de la Roche at an altitude of 399 m, under the protection of its eponymous château. On the other side of the valley is Mont Touleur, with the ruins of a fortress on its summit.
Cross the village and descend to the east. Leave the GR at Machefer and turn left onto a pretty track heading towards Ettevaux.
Follow the small road to Les Banchots, following the PR (yellow). Turn right, then left on the 2nd track. Drive around the 18th-century Château de Villette, rebuilt on the site of a now-defunct 14th-century fortified house. Lodging.
Continue on the PR (yellow) to the village of Poil. Lodgings. Cross the village to the left and continue along the PR, with a fine view of the 15th-century manor house of Le Mousseau.
Go up into Corcelles, then turn left and right. Join a small road at Le Petit Laume. Turn left, go down the track and pass the Cognières pond. Continue as far as the old Moulin du Gué and turn right twice. Turn left at La Roche Pendue, following an orange horse trail.
At Route du Dessus du Jeu, turn left, then left again at Etang de Poisson. Follow the track to Molnet, cross the hamlet and continue on the PR to Saint Léger Sous Beuvray. Lodgings, shops.
After La Boutière, take a small road to the left, then immediately a path that climbs to the left as far as Le Rebout. Ferme du Rebout is 50 m ahead on the right. At Rebout, turn left on a PR road that climbs through the forest to the Bibracte museum (watch out for the road).
