Southern Burgundy is an idyllic region for hikers, combining varied landscapes with a wealth of history. On this three-day tour, you'll discover the region's treasures via Cluny, Tramayes and Suin, while following sections of the Camino de Santiago and the Camino de Hugues de Semur, as well as the GR7.

Your adventure begins in Cluny, famous for its Benedictine abbey, once one of the most powerful in the medieval West. Take the time to visit this majestic abbey and soak up its history and spirituality before setting off.

Leaving Cluny, follow the signposts of the Camino de Santiago de Compostela, recognizable by their scallop shell symbol. Along the way, you'll pass through picturesque villages like Jalogny, where you can take a break and perhaps meet other pilgrims or friendly locals.

After a good night's rest in Tramayes, head back along the trail towards Suin. The first part of this stage takes you through green valleys, offering bucolic landscapes and a peaceful atmosphere.

At the end of the day, you'll reach Suin, a hilltop village offering breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding area. Take time to visit the medieval church and the remains of Suin castle before settling in for the night.

On the last day of your hike, take the Chemin d'Hugues de Semur, a historic trail through bucolic landscapes and shady forests. Hugues de Semur, an important medieval figure, is famous for his influence on the abbey of Cluny.

After a few kilometers, leave the GR7 to join the GR76C and head towards Cluny, where your hike ends. Here you can take time to revisit the abbey and take advantage of the many options for refreshment and rest after three days' walking.
