Sur les sentiers du Sud Bourgogne - De Milly-Lamartine à Mâcon Loché

This hike takes you to the heart of the Mâcon vineyards, between nature, history and heritage. From Milly-Lamartine, birthplace of the poet Alphonse de Lamartine, to the Mâcon-Loché TGV station, this 18-kilometer trail winds through rolling countryside, golden vineyards and emblematic South Burgundy sites.

The route starts in Milly-Lamartine, a charming village nestled in a lush green valley, where Lamartine?s romantic soul still floats. The path soon climbs gently between vineyards, offering superb views of the Mâconnais mountains. We skirt low dry-stone walls, typical of the region, as we make our way towards one of Burgundy?s most famous landmarks: the Roche de Solutré and its twin, Vergisson!

After a well-deserved break at the summit, the descent leads to Solutré-Pouilly, then Fuissé, two typical wine-growing villages where you can appreciate the traditional architecture and, why not, stop for a glass of Pouilly-Fuissé, one of Burgundy?s great white wines.

The rest of the route winds gently through vineyards and groves, always with the Beaujolais and Mâconnais mountains in the background. The path gradually reaches the outskirts of Mâcon-Loché, where the calm of the countryside gives way to a more modern environment, marked by the TGV station, the final point of this beautiful natural escape.

This route corresponds to stage 3 of the itinerary: Sur les sentiers du Sud Bourgogne ? 3-day tour.
