Starting in Tournus, don't miss the Abbaye Saint-Philibert de Tournus, a masterpiece of Romanesque art. Here you'll discover one of the most prestigious sanctuaries of 1st Romanesque art, with transverse cradles almost unique in France.
Leaving Tournus on the GR 76B, this stage takes you along wide, panoramic paths dotted with remarkable buildings (the church at Ozenay and Grevilly, with a view of the medieval village of Brancion) to paths through vineyards, with views stretching from the foothills of the Massif Central to the Alps.
After a good night's sleep, climb even higher and enter the heart of the Mâconnais region! On this stage, discover the Domange chapel in Igé, the fabulous caves of Azé for a refreshing stopover, and finish with the Chapelle des Moines in Berzé-la-Ville, a masterpiece of 12th-century mural painting!
On your last day, follow in the footsteps of Lamartine and don't miss the childhood home of Alphonse de Lamartine in Milly-Lamartine and the famous Solutré and Vergisson rocks - Grand Site de France!
