Randonnée des Buis et du Viaduc de Crainseny

- Pass in front of the nursery school, then at the post "Allée des Buis", go up the small tarred road between the houses.

- At the fork, towards the stone cross, post "Allée des Buis", follow the road on the right, along the orchards and vineyards, straight ahead. A little further up take the path on the left and cross the grassy area to find the post "Les Buis", after a short while, take on the right, marked path along the box trees.

- Turn right along the murgers, you can see the valley. Leave the path to take a path on the left between the boxwoods and the mossy stones: admire the vast panorama on the valley of the Grosne (at this level a variant of 4km is possible. It is indicated by a post).

- To observe the Crainseny viaduct, continue to the right through the woods and go back down on a forest path at Etiveau.

- Turn left on a gravel path. One walks on the old railroad. Just before the 246m long viaduct with 16 arches, go down to the left and come back to Saint-Gengoux by a steep path. The northern exposure reinforces the opposition in the vegetal landscape with its hornbeams, replaced little by little by oaks then by boxwoods.

- On leaving the path, there is a beautiful view of Mont Goubot, Mont Préjus and the pretty medieval town.

- Walk through the medieval village with its church and its belfry, its small streets with evocative names. The city, rich in history since Roman times, was a privileged place of passage and was the seat of a priory established in the 10th century by the monks of Cluny.
