Prairies et bocage d'Ouroux-sur-Saône
The site and its discovery trail, managed by the Conservatoire d'espaces naturels de Bourgogne, is made up of a network of floodplain meadows surrounded by hedges. It is home to many rare and endangered species of flora and fauna, such as the Fritillary and the Loose-flowered Orchid. The best time to observe the plants and birds is from late March to June. Equipment: bring binoculars and boots in wet weather.
In the Val de Saône, in the commune of Ouroux-sur-Saône, the path leads through flower-filled meadows, frequently flooded during flood periods, and a bocage of pollarded ash and willow trees. Free access all year round (except during flood periods). This site and its educational trail, managed by the Conservatoire d'espaces naturels de Bourgogne in partnership with local farmers, is emblematic of the meadows of the Saône Valley.
