Le Mont Avril
15 km west of Chalon-sur-Saône, the Mont Avril site and discovery trail are managed by the Conservatoire d'espaces naturels de Bourgogne in partnership with the Commune de Moroges and a farmer. The site showcases the characteristic landscapes and natural environments of the Côte Chalonnaise. You'll be able to observe numerous plant and animal species typical of limestone grasslands. The site showcases the characteristic landscapes and natural environments of the Côte Chalonnaise. At the summit, the landscape-viewing table offers a 360° panorama. Here you can observe numerous plant and animal species (butterflies, crickets, birds) characteristic of limestone grasslands. The best time to observe the flora and fauna is from April to June.
