Le chemin des calvaires

In Fontaines, there are twelve calvaries or wayside crosses. Only one is not included in the route below because of its degraded environment.

The oldest one is from the 17th century. The others are from the 18th to the end of the 19th century. During the years or according to the circumstances, some were cut down or moved.

The proposed walk will lead you to the discovery of these eleven small monuments of the local heritage, along a pedestrian itinerary of about 1h30. At the same time, you will discover other treasures of the village: church, wash houses, old stones... The circuit starts in front of the Saint-Just church and ends at the intersection of the rue des Champs and the rue du 19 mars 1962, 10 minutes walk from the town hall.
