La Boucherette
Situated on the southern flank of a valley carving through a limestone plateau, the La Boucherette site is home to a particular flora and fauna, able to withstand drought and in search of warmth and sunshine. Here, limestone lawns (also known as "teppes"), scree slopes, pubescent oak woodlands and boxwood moorlands come together. It's enough to give this Burgundy site a touch of the South! Site managed by the Conservatoire d'espaces naturels de Bourgogne in partnership with the commune of Lugny
Starting out from Lugny, you'll discover a corner of the Haut Mâconnais region, a piece of its history and a variety of environments: dry limestone grassland or "teppe", old quarries, a screechstone testifying to an ancient "lavière", a forest of oaks emerging from the boxwood. You'll be guided by a praying mantis. There are four biotope panels along the way and around 50 signs to help you identify the trees and shrubs. Equipment: bring good shoes. Guided tours on request.
