Grande boucle de Rully

This 30 km loop (718 m ascent) will take you through two Côte Chalonnaise wine villages (Rully and Bouzeron), and a village where quarries were exploited until the 20th century, and where numerous washhouses were built (Fontaines). We recommend that you find accommodation in Rully. In the village center, near the Restaurant le Vendangerot, there's a mini-market where you can buy your supplies. But you'll also pass through other villages where you'll find everything you need for a picnic.

Allow 7 hours for this loop, not including lunch breaks or wine-tasting visits.

After passing through the village of Rully and strolling through your first vineyards, you'll follow a path that passes at the foot of the Fontaines fitness trail. If you feel up to adding a few kilometers to your hike, don't hesitate, it's a very pleasant walk through the forest.

On the way back to Rully, take a slight detour to admire the Château, a medieval fortress set atop a sea of vines. You'll also pass the Agneux caves.

This itinerary is the one where you will be most in the forest, allowing you to enjoy a certain coolness at the height of the day. But you'll be back in the vineyards by the time you reach Bouzeron, where you can stop off at a local winegrower?s, the only village in the Côte Chalonnaise to produce wine exclusively from the Aligoté grape.
