Entre lys et bois
- Go down by the road in front of the pretty lavoir de Lys. You are on the GR 7.
- At the old Ballat mill, turn left, ford the river Guye born 4 km north of SAINTE-HÉLÈNE and follow the path bordered by pastures.
- At the Moulin Rivon, go straight ahead and take the D977 to the left at Guénins. You leave the GR 7.
- Cross the village of CERSOT and discover the Romanesque church of the XIIth century, the old fortified castle of the XIIIth century and the wash house at the edge of the Guye.
- After the town hall, turn right onto a path and then a straight road to reach Neuilly. You are halfway there.
- Turn left, in front of the monolithic cross, and follow the path through the calcareous lawns typical of the Côte Chalonnaise.
- Cross the D977, take the path on the other side for 400 m before turning left.
- Climb towards the highest point of the circuit. Cut the road, follow the path along the wood that leads to the amazing rocky spur of Lys.
- The short but steep descent will surprise you with the unexpected scenery of this dark gorge leading to the first houses of this peaceful and welcoming hamlet.
- Do not leave this village without a stop in its village to discover its 10th century Romanesque church dedicated to Saint Fiacre and its 18th century castle built on the former stronghold of the Lords of SASSANGY.
