Entre lac et voie romaine

From the château, the route joins the calm meadows of the Saône valley. The Varennes-les-Mâcon site was inhabited from very early on; numerous flints dating back to 11,850 BC and the remains of two villages were discovered when the lake was created. Here, we follow in the footsteps of the many populations who once followed the river along the Via Agrippa.
