En passant par Grandvaux
Walking from the town center, you'll discover the importance of mining in Epinac's history. Then enjoy the peace and quiet of the Bois des Mollaires and its botanical trail.
- Cross the parking lot behind the town hall and turn right onto a dirt track that follows the old railway line
old railroad line. Turn left, pass under the bridge and continue to the crossroads. Cross over to pass alongside the Puits Hottinguer and the old railway station, then take the path marked by two large boulders.
- Turn left at the sign "Le Curier par la garenne" to reach the Garenne district via rue du Morvan.
- At the "stop" sign, cross the road and take "le chemin noir". At the stadium (signposted "puits de la Garenne"), go right for a few metres, then turn left and drive alongside the stadium.
- At the crossroads, leave the house on your left and go straight ahead on a track as far as Le Curier.
- Turn left onto Route de Molinot and follow it for about 1.5 km to the Fontaine Bonhomme picnic area. Enter the picnic area via a clearing to the left of the road, then after a few meters turn left onto a path marked "Sentier Nature". (see sign on picnic area). Follow the path through the woods. It leads to the Route de Grandvaux. Turn left and follow it to the entrance of the hamlet.
- At the first houses, go down the small street on the left. On the small square on the left is an old wash-house.
- Take the path opposite the wash-house. Once on the road, turn left.
- After about 600 m, take the path that opens up on the left into the Mollaire woods. It descends along a small valley and joins another path at the stream crossing. Turn right to cross the stream on a footbridge.
- Continue as far as the Croix du Roi farm.
- Turn left onto the road and cross the hamlet of La Perrière. About 100 m after the junction with the Route du Curier, turn left into the 1st street. Follow until you reach the "Stop" sign.
- Turn right to return to the town hall parking lot, your starting point.
