From Milly, Lamartine, as a child, raced down the slopes of Monsard to reach Bussières and the lessons of Abbé Dumont. Dumont is buried behind the village?s listed church. From Monsard (407 m) and Cras mountain (505 m), the horizon undulates over the landscape so familiar to the poet.
