Circuit des Clochers
From Chassigny sous Dun, go through the village and admire the flowers. Go up towards the place called "le Bey", N°2 turn right and cross the D985 towards the "vieux bourg", point N°3. Outside the circuit, enter the chapel perfectly restored by an association of volunteers.
Otherwise turn left, go up and cross the "Dreuillien" wood, point N°4. Continue in the woods and then go down by the "Aye" point N°5. Then " la Madone " point N°6, take a break at the foot of the Madone to admire the view, go down to the village of Mussy-sous-Dun, point N°7, in the village, the church is placed under the vocation of Saint Austrégésile, only the apse is from the Romanesque period.
Go down and pass under the arches of the viaduct of Mussy-sous-Dun, point N°8, 561 meters long, with a slightly curved layout. The highest arches are 63 meters high and the pillars sink into the ground between 8 and 12 meters. The materials were transported from the station of La Chapelle-sous-Dun by ox carts to the place called "La Roche Coupée", where a Decauville railway line was specially built to transport them on foot.
Turn right to point N°9, "Carrefour de la Fabrique", turn left, cross the Mussy river and go up to point N°10, "les Murs". Cross the wood of Mussey.
At point N°11 " En Forenne ", you have the possibility to turn left to make a stopover in Chauffailles or to turn right to continue your walk (junction with circuit N°3).
Turn left and cross the D985 in the direction of " Montrange " N°12, continue to " Chizelles " N°13, cross the river of 1st category the Mussy. At the crossroads, turn left then right, go up to the crossroads. Turn left and then at the next crossroads turn completely left and enter the village of Chassigny-sous-Dun by turning right to complete your journey.
