Circuit de Saint-Prix
At the beginning of our circuits which are common on the 1st part you will pass in front of the café of the village and will direct you in direction of Montrocher-le Perret. In the hamlet of Montrocher you will overhang the Paray-le-Monial-Lyon railroad line for the first time. From this place, you will discover a very beautiful point of view on the hamlet of Trembly. Further on, turn left and join the hamlet of Lavaux. Soon you will see its castle which is private and cannot be visited. Cross the bridge over the Lavaux stream (altitude 288 m) and you are at the foot of this imposing building. Continue your way in the direction of the Gueurce wood that you cross by taking on your right. 1 km further, at the exit of the Trembly wood, you will discover the hamlet of Mans where are built beautiful houses of character and a restored chapel. Turn left at the chapel and reach the hamlet of Conche where an old mill remains. At the Calvary of Conche, turn left; 200 m further on our circuits separate. Those who choose the 9 km turn right and reach the village of Dyo by passing under the viaduct. Those who choose the 15 km continue straight ahead, reach the hamlet of Basse, and go up to the Chapel of Saint Prix after having crossed the railway line a second time. Above the chapel and its fountain, turn right again and go up towards Notre Dame des Bois; the highest point of the village at 469 m. A detour of 100 m will allow you, if you wish, to reach this small sanctuary. Continue your way in the direction of Delaine, the Bois de la Charbonnière and find the tarred road. Turn right and 100 m further on, turn left. This sunken road will lead you to the Vieux Bourg. Walk around this hamlet and you will discover the ruins of the old fortified castle; only the keep remains intact. A last effort and you will be back at the starting point. Pass again in front of the café where you can use a drink! Your journey is over. We hope you enjoyed your few hours of hiking with us, and suggest you come back sometime.
