Circuit de la Bussière

A stroll through hills and valleys. A water mill that was still in operation in 1980, the remains of the keep of a medieval castle overlooking the valley, a church with its 12th-century bell tower, the Grosne, a small tributary of the Saône and home to many varieties of fish: this is what this tour has to offer, as you pass through all the hamlets that make up the village of Saint Léger sous la Bussière.

1 - The departure is located at the parking lot of the village hall, at La Belouse. Take the D95 on the left for about 500 m.

2 - Go down to the Grosne by the "chemin du Moulin" (on the left, old restored mill). Cross the river and go straight on. At the crossroads, turn left and then immediately leave this path to go right on a steep slope. After about 200 m, turn right again to go up to the hamlet of La Bussière.

3 - Cross the hamlet. At the fork in the road, take the road on the left which turns into a wide dirt road. At the crossroads of four roads, continue straight ahead on this rising path. At the next crossroads, keep the same direction. The path becomes narrower, crosses a grove, goes along pastures and leads to a road, to the farm of Grange Neuve.

4 - Turn left on the road. At the entrance of the village of Saint Léger sous la Bussière, turn right and cross the bridge over the Grosne. At the crossroads with the D 322, go straight ahead, pass below the cemetery and continue to the D 45; take it on the left to the crossroads of Pontcharras.

5 - Cross the D 95 and go up in front. Go past the buildings of Champ Grillet, then turn left onto a dirt track that leads to a road. Take it on the left and join Montdidier.

6 - In this hamlet, turn right, then immediately left, to take the path that leads to Portes. At the crossroads of this hamlet, turn left on the road to join the D 95.
