Boucle des trois sommets
(D/A) Bibracte Museum parking lot
(1) Go up just behind the museum along a small path to the right, and hike along the side roads to the Rebout gate.
(2) Once you've reached the ancient Gallic city walls, admire the reconstruction of the "murus gallicus", a half-wood, half-stone wall-building technique common to oppida.
Enter Bibracte. 2,000 years ago, it was a Gallic capital, founded in the late 2nd century BC by the Aedui. Abandoned and forgotten for two millennia, the town of Bibracte has now been reborn thanks to archaeologists. A 1,000-hectare setting of beech forests and panoramic viewpoints overlooking the Morvan countryside, all the way to Mont Blanc!
(3) Go straight along the road to the "pâture du Couvent", then left to the terrace, passing the Porrey.
(4) This is undoubtedly the grandest landscape in the Morvan.
(5) At "la terrasse", relax for a few minutes and enjoy the view - you've earned it!
Continue west until you come across the GR®13, marked in red and white.
Turn left and follow it straight downhill. You've left Le Beuvray...
Cross the small road and continue to follow the GR® as far as Petiton. In the hamlet, leave the GR® and turn right onto a signposted track, straight ahead for two kilometers, until you reach the Eschenault crossroads on the D18.
Take the road opposite and cross l'Eschenault. After the houses, turn left onto a track to Les Cléments. When you reach the D500, turn right for a few metres and then left, heading north.
(6) Take the first signposted path on the left towards the source of the Yonne.
Did you know that it's the Yonne that flows through Paris?
On your left, Mont Preneley, 855m. You'll pass through a beautiful natural area and once again take a leap back in time, as for over 2000 years, man has successively exploited and then abandoned the site of Mont Préneley and the Yonne springs. Along the way, follow the traces of the past that appear in the landscape, visit the peat bog, the springs, the timber floating, the forest...
As you leave the site, turn right onto the D300 at the shelter. You'll pass "Port des Lambert", a timber rafting port. Take the GR®13 to the left, and follow it to "Pré du Massé", passing through a beautiful forest.
Take the D500 to the left as far as "l'ancienne maison du Bas Folin", then a track to the left.
Follow the "Route forestière de la Rosée".
There used to be a ski resort here. Haut-Folin was the closest ski resort to Paris. Installed by the French Alpine Club (CAF), a ski lift, an alpine ski run and a chalet-restaurant existed until the late 1980s, but were abandoned due to lack of snow and the presence of snow cannons. Go straight ahead on a yellow track. Here, take a track to the right, then another to the right and finally another to the left as far as the Préperny pond(7) . Take a small path to the left and walk around the pond to the left. Enjoy the peace and quiet of this magical spot.
At the chalet and wooden picnic table, take the track to the right, then quickly take a path that climbs slightly to the south and right again. Follow this until you come to a forest track, and then turn left onto the GR®13. You will come to the Préperny forest road, which you will cross at a parking lot. Continue straight ahead, skirting the Fontaine Blanche stream, which feeds the Goulette pond.
When you come to a track, turn left, then right onto a path that climbs gently up to La Croisette.
Continue until you reach a parking lot, then follow the road to the right.
at 625 m, turn right onto a signposted track and follow it as far as "Crot Morin". Cross the hamlet by the road, pass the cross, go straight on, then take the road on the right, following the red and yellow "GR® de Pays".
cross a road, then go straight on. Leave the GR® de Pays and turn right to "la Petite Chaux". Cross "la Chaux" and "la grande Chaux". At the end of the road, at the cross, take the signposted path on the right.
at "la Reinge", leave your path, go down the right-hand path, cross the stream, pass the mine shaft (beware of danger) and follow the path to Villechaise. Cross the hamlet to the left on the road, then take the right-hand path down to Argentolle. Cross the road to the south, go straight on and turn left onto the road (beware of traffic) to the museum parking lot.
