Our History
Stéphanie & Gérard
After more than twenty years of management in the Chamonix valley, we decided to change direction.
Encouraged by our friends, we moved to Burgundy, in the department of Saône-et-Loire, at Saint-Gengoux-Le-National.
We took over the hotel-restaurant at the station. It's a place steeped in history and a popular address with Jouvenceaux and the surrounding population.
Our aim is to restore this medieval village to its former glory.
Stéphanie and Gérard welcome you to their establishment, which is located in southern Burgundy, on the wine route, in the beautiful medieval town of Saint-Gengoux-le-National. The Hôtel de la Gare and its restaurant "La Voie Gourmande" are located near the Voie Verte at the bottom of the Avenue de la Gare.
Saint-Gengoux is a picturesque, hilly village on a hillside overlooking the Grosne river (a tributary of the Saône).
Saint-Gengoux lies halfway between Cluny and Chalon-sur-Saône.
Come and relax in our hotel-restaurant, or enjoy a cycling trip, as the Voie Verte (former railway line, which was laid out for walkers) is just a stone's throw away, hence the name of our restaurant "La Voie Gourmande".
We offer quality accommodation with a total of 6 rooms.
The restaurant welcomes you all week long from Monday to Sunday (closed on Thursday evening) for lunch or dinner.
Reservations are recommended.
Stéphanie, who is in charge of the kitchen, offers a variety of traditional dishes for lunch, and more sophisticated, semi-gastronomic dishes for dinner. Our menu changes with the seasons.
