Passage Balthus
Covered passage built in the middle of the XIXth century which has kept a neo-renaissance decoration and its original glass roof.
This passageway links the rue aux Cordiers to the rue Général André Demetz. The town of Autun ordered this covered passage to replace the old open-air market hall dating from 1737, built by the Parisian architect François Franque.
In 1848, the architect Palluet drew up the plans for the passageway while preserving the façade of the old hall overlooking the Champ de Mars esplanade.
