Nicolas Gonnet Céramique
Creation of handmade and designer ceramics: tableware, lighting and decorative objects that are raw, unique and sensitive.
I spent three years in Paris at a ceramics school, ELMADe Auguste Renoir, where I learned to develop ceramic objects or object systems from predefined specifications. In my final year, I was able to create a personal project based on my inspirations.
I became interested in the art of traditional Japanese living, which opened my eyes to the importance of singular and unique objects, contrasts between light and shadow, and the enhancement of emptiness and simplicity. All in the interest of perpetuating traditional craft techniques and gestures.
I've come to realise that craftsmanship brings sensitivity through the work of the hand, and that fire is an element, a material and a technique that adds uncertainty, sensitivity and uniqueness.
